Illinois Senator Barack Obama in St. Paul, Minnesota spoke in front of his supporters and said, 'It is because of you I will be the Democratic nominee for the President of the United States.'
Addressing a cheering crowd at the site where the Republicans will later hold their national Convention, Obama said, 'tonight we mark one end of a historic journey and a beginning of another.'
Earlier this evening Hillary Clinton spoke in New York announcing that there will be 'no decisions tonight' regarding her decision to continue her bid for the nomination.
This comes on the day of the final primaries in South Dakota and Montana. Clinton is projected to win South Dakota while Obama is projected to win Montana.
Questions to Consider for Comment
What do you think Clinton will do next?
Do you think Obama should offer Clinton the Vice President position?
Do you think Clinton supporters will stay home during the general election if she concedes and is not the VP? |

The Democratic National Committee Rules and Bylaws Committee will meet Saturday to determine the delegate status of Florida and Michigan. These two states violated DNC 'Delegate Selection Rule 11 a', which dictates the timing of primaries.
A lesser known passage is 'Rule 20 - Section C 1. b'. This rule may force Barack Obama to forfeit his Florida delegates. This section states:
"A presidential candidate who campaigns in a state where the state party is in violation of the timing provisions of these rules, or where a primary or caucus is set by a state's government on a date that violates the timing provisions of these rules, may not receive pledged delegates or delegate votes from that state." |
