Jon Kyl on Fox News Sunday: Direct Talks With Iran May Create A 'Dispirited Situation'
Sunday, May 18, 2008
Sunday Morning Mashup of FOX NEWS SUNDAY:
JON KYL
May 18, 2008
Jon Kyl views direct talks with Iran as counter-productive...
"Remember that Nixon went to China to drive a wedge between China and Russia, to gain leverage in that three country relationship. And with respect to Iran, I think Chris is right, that there are a lot of folks in Iran who are actually very friendly toward the United States. The last thing you want to do is to create a dispirited situation for them by granting the prestige of the Presidency to sitting down with the head of their country who they don't like any better than we do."

Jim Webb on Meet The Press: 'Aggressive Diplomacy' Ends Rogue Regimes
Sunday, May 18, 2008
Sunday Morning Mashup of NBC MEET THE PRESS:
JIM WEBB
May 18, 2008
Instead of likening talks with Iran to Nazi Appeasement, Jim Webb prefers another comparison...
"President Bush were to use the right historical example, he probably should be looking at China in the 1970s, rather than the situation in Germany in the 1930s. Where we had a rogue regime with nukes, with an American war on its border, that was spouting all of this hostile rhetoric and was not a part of the international community. And by aggressive diplomacy at the same time that we kept all of our other options on the table and maintained all of our other alliances, we were able to, arguably, bring China into the international community."

Obama Supporter Chris Dodd on Fox News Sunday: McCain Bush Assoiciation is 'Very Legitimate'
Sunday, May 18, 2008
Sunday Morning Mashup of NBC MEET THE PRESS:
CHRIS DODD
May 18, 2008
Obama Supporter, Chris Dodd is happy to draw similarities between Bush and McCain...
"John McCain is very much a supporter of where President Bush has been and where he is today. In fact, he's changed his view on some of these major issues in this last number of weeks, on tax policy, on the war in Iraq, the other day announcing he's now, all of a sudden, discovered that we ought to be out of there by 2013. That's a very different John McCain than even a few days ago. So clearly, I think associating the policies of this failed administration in foreign policy with a candidate who embraces the same view is very legitimate."

Karl Rove on FNS: Strategy to Associate Bush with McCain is a "Mistake'
Sunday, May 18, 2008
Sunday Morning Mashup of NBC MEET THE PRESS:
KARL ROVE
May 18, 2008
On Fox News Sunday, Karl Rove looks at the General Election Strategy of tying McCain to Bush.
"The American people are going to make a judgement about John McCain and nobody is going to sit out there and confuse John McCain and George Bush. They were rivals at one point. They've run against each other. They have different opinions and different ideas, different life experiences. It is a mistake for the Democrats to count on simply saying McCain-Bush Bush-MCain and expect to win this fall."
